Only crush cars at the junkyard for cash. Fortunately the cars at the junkyard constantly respawn, so you can simply crush all the cars there, run around the huge junkpile in the center of the yard, and then crush all the respawned cars again. Lather, rinse, repeat until you have enough cash.

Then drive back down to the Mona Lisa Cafe, and the door will let you in. Hope this helps.
